Fujifilm India, a pioneer in diagnostic imaging and innovations in healthcare technologies recently inaugurated its state-of-the-art Center of Excellence in collaboration with Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. The inaugural event focused at highlighting Fujifilm’s association with Yashoda Hospital to create first-of-its-kind training platform for Pulmonology specialty in India. With this, the company is aiming at educating and offering training to clinicians in endoscopy and serve the society with better healthcare and diagnosis.

The Centre of Excellence was inaugurated by Doctor B. Karunakar Reddy, Governor of Telangana, & Vice-Chancellor, Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal, Telangana, India and Dr. GS Rao, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospital, Hyderabad along with Dr. Hari Kishan Gonuguntala, Consultant Interventional Pulmonologist, Director of Department of pulmonology, Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, Hyderabad. Over 100 doctors attended the event and 50 doctors were trained at the center on the day of the inauguration.

As respiratory diseases like Tuberculosis and Sarcoidosis differentiation always has been concern for the healthcare fraternity. Early detection out of many other available treatments for these diseases remains to be the most important aspect in fighting this battle. At the center, Fujifilm will offer adequate training to doctors and enable them to detect early growth in the lungs, sample the tissue/node, targeted biopsy and treat them timely resulting in reduced spread of the disease. They will additionally be able to diagnose mediastinal nodes and conduct Ultrasound-guided FNAC to rule out the confusion between diagnosis of sarcoidosis and lung tuberculosis with the help of EBUS system.

With this, we are committed to contribute to the government’s vision of completely eradicating diseases like tuberculosis from the country.”

 

Speaking on the partnership with Fujifilm India, Dr Harikishan Gonuguntla – Department of Pulmonology of Yashoda Hospital said, “We are delighted to be associated with a brand like Fujifilm who have been the pioneers in medical imaging and diagnostic technologies. Having a dedicated Fujifilm Training Center in our hospital gives us the chance to share our expertise and knowledge with other clinicians around the county. Modern innovations in healthcare and technology help us save lives with early detection and hence we constantly need to be educated about these innovations and technologies.”

 

On the event, Dr. Lorenzo Corbetto also shared training methodology in Interventional Pulmonology live from Italy. Which was followed by a session on Robotics and new technological advances in Bronchoscopy by Dr. Suchitra Pilli, USA and a Simulation Training in Bronchoscopy by Dr Hari Kishan Gonugutla.

 

The center offers an array of applications of simulation to educate and assess clinicians to perform and promote research to improve clinical processes. It will provide a plethora of course options to clinicians ranging from Basic Bronchoscopy Simulation Certification to EBUS Simulation Certification. Other offered courses are, Advanced Bronchoscopy Simulation Certification, Pediatric Bronchoscopy Simulation Certification and Navigation Bronchoscopy Simulation Certification.
