Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister, on Tuesday declared the government has given a green-signal to Bharat Biotech’s manufacturing unit, at Ankleshwar, for the production of Covid 19 vaccine, Covaxin. The minister tweeted, “Govt of India approves vaccine manufacturing facility of production of @BharatBiotech’s#Covaxin in Ankleshwar, Gujrat.”
The approval is significant as it helps the production of more COVID-19 vaccines for the country.
“Following PM @NarendraModi ji’s vision of #SabkoVaccineMuftVaccine, this will increase vaccine availability and accelerate the world’s largest vaccine drive,” added the minister, who is in charge of two ministries – Chemicals and Fertilisers, and Health.
Health major Bharat Biotech announced that it was intending to produce about 200 million doses of the vaccine at a subsidiary facility at Ankleshwar.
