Manipal Health Enterprises Launches ₹9,275 Crore IPO on July 29
Manipal Health Enterprises, one of India’s largest multispecialty hospital networks, has announced the launch of its ₹9,275 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO), which will open for public subscription from July 29 to July 31, 2026. The company has fixed a price band of ₹560–590 per equity share, with the anchor investor portion opening on July 28.
The IPO comprises:
- A fresh issue of ₹8,000 crore
- An Offer for Sale (OFS) worth ₹1,275 crore
This makes it one of the largest healthcare IPOs in India this year.
How Manipal Health Plans to Use IPO Proceeds
The company plans to utilise ₹5,378 crore from the fresh issue to repay or prepay outstanding borrowings, while ₹574 crore has been earmarked for acquiring the minority stake in its step-down subsidiary, Sahyadri Hospitals. The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
The issue values Manipal Health at an estimated market capitalisation of around ₹77,600 crore at the upper end of the price band. Eligible employees have also been offered a discount of ₹56 per share, with shares worth ₹15 crore reserved under the employee quota.
Manipal Health’s Current Scale and Expansion Plans
Manipal Health currently operates 49 hospitals with approximately 13,000 licensed beds across 24 cities in India, making it the country’s largest pan-India multispecialty hospital network by bed capacity.
As part of its long-term growth strategy, the company plans to add around 2,400–3,000 new beds over the next three to four years through greenfield and brownfield expansion projects, strengthening its presence in key healthcare markets.
India’s Hospital Sector: Growth Backdrop for the IPO
The IPO comes at a time when India’s hospital sector continues to witness strong growth, driven by:
- Rising demand for tertiary and quaternary care
- Increasing health insurance penetration
- Growing investments in healthcare infrastructure
According to industry estimates, the Indian healthcare market is expected to surpass US$638 billion by 2025, while private hospital operators are significantly expanding capacity to meet the country’s increasing healthcare needs. Analysts believe the public issue reflects sustained investor confidence in India’s healthcare delivery sector and the long-term growth potential of organised hospital chains.
What This Means for Manipal Health’s Future
With fresh capital aimed at strengthening its balance sheet and supporting future expansion, Manipal Health Enterprises is positioning itself for the next phase of growth in India’s evolving healthcare landscape. The IPO is expected to further enhance the company’s financial flexibility, accelerate capacity addition, and reinforce its leadership in the country’s rapidly expanding hospital sector.
