Satara: The Onco Life Champion Trophy 2023 was organized by the Onco Life Cancer Center in Satara to encourage people to battle cancer through the game of cricket which teaches not to give up till the last ball. This year is the third year and the matches were organized for three days on 8th, 9th, and 10th December. Gamma Supergiants emerged as the winners of the title of Onco Life Champion Trophy 2023.

The final match was played between Gamma Supergiants vs Onco BMT Royals. The toss was won by Onco BMT Royals. Ultimately, Gamma Supergiants emerged as the tournament champions, led by the winning Captain Dr. Rohan Gadawe. Notable attendees at the closing ceremony included Mr. Uday Deshmukh (Chairman and Managing Director), Dr. Vikas Patil (Director), Dr. Pratap Rajemhadik (Director), Mr. Rajendra Motling (Director), Mr. Sachin Deshmukh (Managing Director), Mr. Vinayak Bhosale, and players from each team.

“Cricket is a popular sport among all age groups across the country. It teaches people to maintain patience, regardless of the physical or emotional distress one might be enduring. One must persevere and hold on, as there will always be a chance to fight again in the future. The game of cricket is similar to how patients diagnosed with cancer must remain composed throughout their struggle against the disease. More than 150 doctors across Satara district were seen on the field for this competition with bat and ball instead of stethoscopes in hand. Cancer awareness was created through these matches by naming the teams based on different types of cancer,” said Uday Deshmukh, Chairman & Managing Director of Onco Life Cancer Center.

In the first year, Medical Onco Warriors won the title and Pet City Scan Strikers won the title in the second year.
