Karnataka Chief Secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar on Sunday said private medical establishments in the state cannot refuse treatment to patients with COVID-19 and COVID-19-like symptoms. It’s the statutory duty of all private medical facilities to prevent the spread of communicable diseases and adhere to the Patients’ Charter, Bhaskar added. There are more than 5,400 active COVID-19 cases in Karnataka.
