The professors from the institute published patents for their incredible research in healthcare sector
: NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata added a few more feathers of success to a plethora of their talented bunch of academic strength from the School of health sciences. The professors and the research scholars have already published three patents for invention of: “Topical Liposomal Gel of Biochanin-A and Method of Preparation Thereof”, “Method of Synthesizing Chrysin Ruthenium Complex and Applications Thereof” and invention of “Novel Metallic – Oxicam Complexes and Method of Synthesizing the Same”. Dr. Subhabroto Mazumdar (Professor), Dr. Souvik Roy (Associate Professor), Miss. Puja Saha (PG Scholar), Mr. Anwesan Sil (PG Scholar), Dr. Ishita Sanyal (Assistant Professor), Miss. Rituparna Das (PG scholar), Dr. Balaram Ghosh (Associate Professor), Ms. Tania Chakraborty (Jr. Research fellow), Ms. Torsha Ghosh (PG scholar) have been accorded credits for their extraordinary research in healthcare segment.
NSHM Knowledge Campus has always highlighted the necessity of collaboration in modern day health sciences in its curriculum, so as to provide quality experience to patients at affordable costs. The organisation has produced many Research scholars and academicians, who have filed patents for their exceptional research contributing towards the welfare of the human being. The recent invention done by the Research scholars and academicians are also focussed towards various health issues. For example, Liposomal Gel is known to cure skin related diseases. The research investigated by Dr. Subhobrata Mazumdar involves preparation of Topical Liposomal gel of Biochanin –A, which will be helpful in curing deeper skin diseases. The Ruthenium metal is a rare transition metal and Oxicam is a class of Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDS). The invention by Dr. Souvik Roy involves synthesizing Ruthenium metal based Oxicam complexes which is a promising metal based anti-cancer drug. The researches and invention conducted by the dignitaries focus to improve the overall healthcare scenario of the country.
The faculties at NSHM have always received opportunities to participate in technical workshops/seminars. NSHM has also provided a platform to transform their innovative ideas into products and obtain patent rights. Such opportunities help in contributing overall growth of the individual and enhance the intellectual capital of the institution.
