South Africa has reported over 1.01 lakh COVID-19 cases, nearly a third of Africa’s total number of cases at over 3.12 lakh, the WHO’s Regional Office for Africa said. Over 1.49 lakh have recovered from coronavirus in Africa, 53,444 of them are in South Africa, it added. The country accounts for 1,991 of the 8,200 COVID-19 deaths reported in Africa.
