Interaction between doctors, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, import substitution in traumatology and orthopedics, the role of telemedicine in patient rehabilitation after injuries and surgeries, and legal protection of the doctors against the “consumer terrorism” by the patients – these and many other topics will be covered by the participants of the Business Forum to be held on June 25-26, 2021, during the Eurasian Orthopedic Forum (EOF).

 The Business Forum sections will be available to all EOF participants. An impressive speaker lineup includes representatives of the Russian Health Ministry, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Labor, heads of the largest national medical research centers for traumatology and orthopedics, representatives of Russian and foreign pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, as well as representatives of scientific institutions developing new materials and technologies for application in trauma and orthopedic practices, lawyers and economists.

“Traumatology and orthopedics is one of those medical industries where only joint efforts of doctors, scientists, and industry representatives will ensure improvement of the medical care system, improve the quality and safety of medical devices, the people’s satisfaction with the availability and quality of medical services. That is why the key sections of the Business Forum will be dedicated to the establishment of a competitive domestic industry to produce medical devices for traumatology and orthopedics: development of new materials and technologies, implementation of the best solutions into the everyday clinical practice, economic and legal issues of the industry development, possible financial support measures for training and education activities of the Russian manufacturers”, noted Victor Spektor, Head of the EOF Business Agenda, General Director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics (“CITO”).

The Plenary Session will become the central event of the Business Forum, attended by Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation. Its participants will discuss the main development trends in traumatology and orthopedics, organizational and legal issues of the industry, and the key aspects of government support.

The Business Forum’s sections will also address the issues of establishing an evidence-based medical and technological industry, preparing clinical guidelines for traumatology and orthopedics, creating a

register of medical devices, developing and implementing new technologies for implant production, testing and standardization.

 

A separate session will be dedicated to the application of orthotics as an effective conservative treatment method in traumatology and orthopedics. The participants will discuss the key orthotic methods and clinical results achieved, specifics of orthotics application in children, mechanisms of ensuring continuity of the rehabilitation process, development of the standards for inclusion of orthotics and rehabilitation programs in the compulsory health insurance system.

 

The issues of interaction between clinicians and pharmaceutical manufacturers, the possibility of expanding the doctors’ involvement in clinical trials of pharmaceuticals, state regulation of drug production will be of interest to a wide range of specialists.

 

Special sessions of the Business Forum will be dedicated to the most urgent topics such as protection of traumatologists’ medical operations against risks, issues of staffing in the industry and state financing of traumatology.
