As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, for the benefit of thalassemia children, Transasia Bio-Medicals Ltd., once again joined hands with PATUT, to organize ‘Timeless Pankaj Udhas’, a musical concert by the highly acclaimed Padma Shri Pankaj Udhas, on 30th April, 2022 in Mumbai.

For over a decade now, Transasia and Parent Association Thalassemic Unit Trust (PATUT), have been actively associated in the commitment to the cause of thalassemic children. Together, they have organized many dedicated initiatives including awareness and blood screening camps for college students, blood donation drives, equipping diagnostic centres with the required instruments and contributing to fund-raising activities for the benefit of thalassemia children.

Transasia’s hematology range of instruments, of international standards, have helped accurately screen for thalassemia in innumerable patients across the country, giving them a ray of hope.

This time too, Transasia extended its support by donating Erba H360, the fully automated 3 Part Differential Hematology Analayzer that aids in screening of hemoglobinopathies.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Suresh Vazirani, Founder Chairman, Transasia said, “I am immensely proud of Transasia’s continuing ten year old association with PATUT and Padmashri Pankaj Udhas in aid of a very noble cause of thalassemic children. At Transasia, we believe in operating with a higher purpose, with an unwavering focus on our customers and the patients they serve. Thalassemia is a cause we very closely associate with. We are glad that with our hematology range of analyzers, we are able to contribute to the early and accurate diagnosis of thalassemia and its associated adversities, giving the patients a chance for timely treatment.”

The occasion also marked a new record for the Erba hematology range – that of achieving landmark installations in the shortest time in India. The hematology range backed by the group’s European R&D, was launched in 2019 in India, on the occasion of the organization’s 40th anniversary.

This feat has been achieved in a short span of just three years, making it India’s fastest selling hematology range ever.

These next-gen analyzers have become a popular choice among pathologists because of their robustness, host of features that offer seamless operations, affordability and the prompt availability of technical and application support. Wockhardt Hospital,Mumbai, Rainbow Group, Hyderabad, AIIMS, Guntur, Kidwai Institute of Oncology, Bangalore, Army Hospital, Delhi , Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital (Tata Memorial Hospital), Varanasi and AIIMS, Rishikesh are some of the key institutes where the Erba hematology range is aiding clinicians and the lab technologists offer accurate and timely diagnosis.

Transasia celebrated the occasion with eminent pathologists from Mumbai. To make the occasion memorable, Transasia felicitated Mr. Malik Ashab, General Manager and Dr. Sonal Gupta of Redcliff Labs for installing the landmark 15,000th hematology analyzer. Today, I feel very proud that once again, Transasia has proved that it is a preferred choice when it comes to offering timely and accurate diagnosis.”

“This milestone is a testament of the quality of the analyzers. I am thankful to the 15,000 + pathologists for bestowing their trust in us. We will continue to live up to our mission of meeting the diagnostic needs of India through high quality solutions that are reliable and affordable”, he further added.

Added Shri Pankaj Udhas, “Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder and requires immediate attention. We are thankful to corporates such as Transasia, for supporting this cause with their world-class solutions. I further congratulate Transasia on achieving the remarkable number of 15,000 units being installed.”

PATUT is a non-profitable organization set up by parents who leave no stone unturned to ensure that their thalassemia children get a second chance at life. Through its association with various hospitals, PATUT arranges and mobilizes funds for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), a last resort procedure for most thalassemia children.

As the President of PATUT, ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas has been showcasing his talent for the cause of thalassemia for over four decades. In fact, his relentless contribution to both the fields has been duly honoured by the Government of India with the prestigious Padmashri Award!

At the ‘Timeless Pankaj Udhas’ concert, he set the mood with his soulful and timeless ghazals.
