Lucknow, : In a major step towards strengthening public healthcare systems, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched the State Health Systems Resource Center (SHSRC) at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow. The initiative aims to enhance healthcare planning, policy implementation, and system efficiency across the state.
The newly established center will function as a technical and knowledge support hub, assisting the state government in health systems strengthening, policy formulation, program implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. It is expected to play a pivotal role in improving the overall quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of healthcare services in Uttar Pradesh.
Officials stated that the SHSRC will facilitate evidence-based decision-making by leveraging data analytics, research, and best practices in public health. The center will also support capacity building by providing training and technical expertise to healthcare professionals and administrators across the state.
Housed within SGPGIMS one of the state’s premier medical institutions the resource center will enable closer collaboration between academic institutions, policymakers, and healthcare providers, ensuring more integrated and efficient healthcare delivery systems.
The initiative aligns with the state’s broader vision of strengthening healthcare infrastructure and governance, particularly in improving outcomes in primary, secondary, and tertiary care services.
