There is no doubt that vaccines have saved countless lives. A new study suggests they also increase the likelihood of long-term Covid!
When someone is infected with Covid, they generally recover in four weeks. But in some cases, Covid symptoms persist for months. This is called long Covid.
A study conducted by King’s College London has revealed that, if the vaccinated person is infected by the coronavirus, they will reduce the likelihood of becoming a long Covid patient.
For this study, the researchers analyzed data from the Zoe Covid study app. The researchers found that just 0.2% of the people got infected by the virus after getting two doses of the Covid.
Just 5 per cent of the people who took both the doses of the vaccine suffered from long Covid. At the same time, the percentage of people who suffered from long Covid among the unvaccinated was 11 per cent.
