REASON TO JOIN PROFESSION
 Natural inclination being son of famous Orthopaedic Surgeon Prof. M Natarajan .
 Getting soaked day in and day out in a medical care environment.
 I developed interest as I used to play with Plaster of Paris casts since childhood.

EARLY CHALLENGES
 Nothing grows under banyan tree. The banyan tree was my father.
I had to come out of the shades and see the sunshine by myself.
 Developing Indigenous Custom Mega Prosthesis for the Common man attending a Public Hospital which was Affordable to patients, Acceptable to the medical fraternity, Applicable to society, and the concept of Custom Megaprosthesis in Bone Tumors Attainable in our Country, so that India keeps pace with the rest of the World in Orthopaedic Oncology.

PROFESSIONAL HIGHS
 Saving the first Limb from being amputated and seeing the patient walk after Limb salvage with Custom Mega Prosthetic Replacement as early as
in 1988.
 Being honoured with Padma Shri in 2007, Dr. B.C. Roy National Award in 2004, National Award for Welfare of the Disabled in 2005.

HEALTHCARE VISION (MAN VS. MACHINE)
 Machines are only to facilitate the vision of Man.
 However advanced the machine get, it requires a human instinct to operate them in healthcare.

INSPIRATION
 Are the words of my mother
 By the speech of APJ Abdul kalam on using the local resources for affordable health care.

YOUR MOST IMPORTANT PRIORITY IF YOU WERE HEALTH MINISTER
 Make all the District head quarters Hospital into a Medical College to increase the quality of care at the Peripheral Level.
 Make admissions twice a year in Medical Colleges to produce double the number of Doctors with the same infrastructure, faculty and resources to reduce the poverty of doctors.

HOBBIES
 Watching Movies.
 Leather Wallets Collections.
 Driving SUV Vehicles (Buying a Few !!).
