What was your rationale behind your career move?
I pursued my Bachelors’ in Science because this field always fascinated me. After completing my graduation, I decided to start a diagnostic equipment distribution business in the year 2005. Since we were both beginners at the time, we started the business with a basic capital of 1 Lakh Rupees. Our rationale was to bring innovative products in the diagnostic equipment industry and make them available to people at an efficient cost. 5 years back, I started our company with my brother, Mr. Rakesh Meena (Director), and decided to take this vision forward. Today our company has achieved a turnover of Rs. 26 Crores and we are all set to touch a turnover of Rs. 40 Crores under the support and guidance of our other combatant, Mr. Deepak Vashist (Head-Application), Mr. Ravi Naruka (Head-Technical), and Mr. Anand Bansal (Head-HR & Marketing).
How are you meeting the demands of these high penetrated and rapidly growing needs of the market?
I strongly believe that the market for diagnostic equipment is quite large and filled with potential. We are meeting the demands of the market and maintaining our strong position with a firm focus on technology, application-based innovation, and marketing. We have tied up with the world’s best companies in order to grow our global presence. At the same time, we are making sure to comply with a “Make in India” vision under our own brand LABTECH wherein all our products are made in India.
What is the USP of your products?
The USP of our products can be categorized into two points. Firstly, our products are cost-efficient. Secondly, all our products are widely available as well as premium-grade in terms of quality.
After your organization joined the parade, What have you added to the scenario?
Ever since we became a part of this industry, we have added a benchmark by not just increasing employment opportunities, but also in developing entrepreneurs. We provide balanced and adequate training facilities to all our employees. We are not just increasing our employee base with every passing year but we are also developing entrepreneurs by converting our employees into independent channel partners after they have worked with us for several years. We are trying to add X-Factor in every employee and channel partner to combat with latest updations.
With such rapid, continual advances in technology, how do you ensure staying updated?
To stay in sync with the rapid technological developments, we use updated and cutting-edge technology. We maintain a strong relationship with our distributors through Tech updations and by offering them Tech assistance.
We use globally acclaimed technologies and we are bringing this innovation to India through our strategic partnerships with names like Spinreact, Diatron, Snibe, Mindray and Thermo Fisher etc.

There is a lot happening in the country, as a responsible healthcare startup/organization, where do you feel the country is going?
After the COVID Era, we have seen a wide increase in health awareness among people. We have also noticed a surge in Laboratories chains, Satellite hospitals, PHC’s, CHC’s and the large number of steps that the government has taken to promote affordability and accessibility of equal healthcare services to all. The diagnostics industry in India is currently valued at $4 bn. The share of the organized sector is almost 25% in this segment (15% in labs and 10% in radiology). 70,000 Ayushman Bharat centers which aim at providing primary health care services to communities closer to their homes are operational in India. And approx. 1 Lakh new centers are planned in upcoming financial years.
Do you stand by the fact that a strong team is important for a brand to grow?
Yes, I would say strong teamwork is ery important for a brand to grow, it builds a harmonic relationship between employees, it brings out the best within a team and obviously, the efficiency improves significantly. “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress and working together is success.”
As a healthcare-based organization, how have you contributed to the COVID times?
In the COVID Times, we have contributed to the industry’s development through the generation of employment opportunities in Rajasthan & other states of North India. We are firm believers in Women Empowerment, in fact, 100% of our back-office staff is comprised of women. While most employees were facing salary cuts during COVID Times, we went a mile further by fulfilling not just timely salaries but also providing meaningful incentives to our employees. We have operated 24/7 during COVID time to cater the requirement of Healthcare products and needs.
