Visakhapatnam, September 15, 2025: In a landmark moment for India’s MedTech ecosystem, Dr. Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, officially released the M.Tech and MBA curriculum of Erba Global MedTech University, Visakhapatnam.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD & CEO, Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ); Mr. Rajiv Nath, Forum Coordinator, AiMeD; and Mr. Suresh Vazirani, Founder Chairman, Erba Transasia Group, along with senior faculty of the University. The Academic Council also reviewed upcoming Master’s and PhD programs, set to begin from January 2026.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Suresh Vazirani said: “This initiative marks yet another first in India and globally, driven by an excellent faculty team with great aspirations and motivation. The next generation of professionals will be eager to graduate from this pioneering institution, contributing significantly to the MedTech ecosystem.”
Aligned with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the programs are designed to reduce dependency on imports, advance “Make in India” and “Skill India” missions, and position India as a global MedTech hub.
Located within AMTZ, the University provides students hands-on exposure with 150+ device manufacturers, backed by global collaborations with the WHO Collaborating Centre and World Trade Centre (WTC) AMTZ. The curriculum covers cutting-edge areas like AI-driven diagnostics, medical robotics, molecular diagnostics, and genomics, ensuring global standards while addressing India’s healthcare needs.
The newly launched curriculum is designed to:
- Equip students with deep scientific and technical knowledge in medical technology
- Bridge the gap between research, industry, and entrepreneurship
- Develop leaders who will drive innovation in line with India’s “Make in India” and “Skill
India” missions
- Contribute towards self-reliance in healthcare manufacturing and reduce dependence on

diagnostics, and cutting-edge genomics
- Covers international benchmarks (aligned with US/EU/FDA/WHO standards)
- Apt for doctors, engineers, medical technologists and students
