In a landmark move strengthening its international presence, Narayana Health, one of India’s largest and most respected healthcare providers, has announced the acquisition of UK-based Practice Plus Group (PPG), marking a major milestone in its global expansion strategy.

The acquisition, estimated at £160 million (approximately ₹1,700 crore), positions Narayana Health as a significant player in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) ecosystem, enabling it to deliver high-quality, affordable care to a broader international patient base.

Practice Plus Group, headquartered in Reading, operates over 70 facilities across the UK, offering elective surgeries, diagnostics, and primary care services in partnership with the NHS. With this acquisition, Narayana Health aims to leverage its operational excellence, cost-efficiency, and patient-centric care model to enhance healthcare delivery in the UK while gaining deeper insights into advanced healthcare systems.

Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman and Founder of Narayana Health, said the acquisition underscores the organization’s vision to provide world-class healthcare accessible to all, irrespective of geography.
“This strategic move not only allows us to serve patients in the UK but also helps us bring best global practices back to India, enriching our ecosystem and strengthening our clinical standards,” Dr. Shetty stated.

The acquisition aligns with Narayana Health’s ambition to transform into a global healthcare enterprise, expanding its footprint beyond India and the Cayman Islands, where it already operates a highly successful tertiary care facility.

Industry experts view this as a transformative step for Indian healthcare, demonstrating the growing international confidence in India’s hospital management expertise and clinical quality.

With this acquisition, Narayana Health continues to reinforce its reputation as a pioneer of affordable excellence in global healthcare, bridging borders and setting new benchmarks for innovation, efficiency, and compassion.
