13th International Live Operative Workshop brings together leading national and international urologists
for knowledge exchange, surgical demonstrations and advanced training in kidney stone management

New Delhi, September 2026: Apollo Spectra Hospital, Delhi successfully hosted the 13th
International Live Operative Workshop on Basic and Advanced Techniques of PCNL
(PERCON 2026), PERCON® is a registered organisation dedicated to advancing education,
training and innovation in healthcare. This workshop was attended by more than 1000
participants including best urologists and surgeons along with the global faculty to discuss
new academic activities related to the minimally invasive technique of kidney stone
treatment.

The two-day seminar was hosted by Apollo Spectra Hospital, Delhi, under the guidance of
Dr. S. K. Pal, Senior Consultant Urologist, Apollo Spectra Hospital, New Delhi and
Organizing Secretary, PERCON. The workshop conducted on 19th and 20th September
2026 comprised of live operative demonstration, discussions and hands-on training for
improved surgical skills.

This workshop witnessed participation by people from almost 28 countries and its live
proceedings were broadcasted globally to be watched in those countries. Various
members of urology departments organised viewing sessions to watch the live operative
workshop for learning and educational purposes. This workshop is one of the largest in
the world in live single surgery demonstrations and is hosted every year.
Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) was the central theme in the workshop conducted
to enhance the knowledge of surgeons about an advanced minimally invasive technique
in the treatment of complex renal stones. The workshop dealt with both basic and
advanced surgical techniques, thus giving the attendees the latest information in
endourology.

The event saw involvement of some of the most respected urology surgeons from India
as well as all over the world including international faculty from countries such as Malaysia,
Nepal, Philippines, Iraq, Thailand and others namely Dr. Git Kah Ann- Consultant Urologist
Pantai Hospital Penang, Malaysia, Dr. Hermie Zialcita- Consultant Urologist National Kidney
& Transplant Institute, Philippines, Dr. Hayder Ismael Jawad- Consultant Urologist Al
Yarmook Teaching Hospital, Iraq, Dr. Chinnakhet Ketsuwan- Consultant Urologist, Thailand
and Dr. Mekbeb Chere- Consultant Urologist Ethiopia. Participants had the opportunity of
gaining practical experience by means of interactive sessions and live surgical procedures
performed at Apollo Spectra Hospital, Chirag Enclave, New Delhi.
