Visakhapatnam, April 22, 2026: The Atal MedTech Museum & Library, a one-of-a-kind centre was inaugurated today at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) by Hon’ble Former Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu, marking a significant milestone in India’s journey towards advancing medical technology and innovation. Conceived as a tribute to the visionary leadership of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the museum captures the evolution of medical technology—from its early beginnings to the cutting-edge innovations transforming global healthcare today. During his visit, Shri Naidu toured the AMTZ campus and interacted with Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD & Founder CEO, AMTZ, along with key stakeholders. Students from Pilani Public School were also present at the event. He appreciated the efforts of AMTZ in building a world-class ecosystem for medical device manufacturing and innovation in India. The Atal MedTech Museum & Library stands as a one-of-a-kind space that combines a museum and a library. It showcases the evolution of healthcare, highlighting past achievements and major medical breakthroughs that have shaped modern medicine. It will also feature immersive AR/VR experiences that demonstrate advanced visualisation technologies through real-world simulations, including holographic overlays that enhance surgical precision, diagnostics, and training. A dedicated 3D video experiential showcase presents the life and vision of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, highlighting his vision of a modern, innovation-driven India. The library is RFID-enabled and houses over 1,100 books, along with journals, magazines, and a wide range of clinical and medical resources. Further strengthening the ecosystem, the Former Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu, inaugurated new partnerships that were exchanged with IKSANA and Medpolis. Addressing the gathering at the Kalam Convention Centre, the Former Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu, said “Centres like Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone stand as pillars of the present, driving towards a future of transformative innovation and globally competitive healthcare manufacturing. AMTZ has created a comprehensive ecosystem that brings together scientific facilities, regulatory support, prototyping, and manufacturing infrastructure under one roof, enabling startups, MSMEs, and global manufacturers to collaborate and deliver affordable, high-quality medical technologies.” He further added, “Such institutions reflect India’s growing capability to reduce import dependence and move towards self-reliance in medical devices, in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat.” Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone truly stands as a ‘mini-India’ of innovation, showcasing how integrated ecosystems can transform healthcare delivery and strengthen India’s global position in MedTech.” He appreciated Dr.Jitendra Sharma MD & Founder, CEO AMTZ for a mission like approach towards the medical technology sector. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jitendra Sharma, MD & Founder CEO, recalled his early journey and the pivotal role played by M. Venkaiah Naidu in the creation and early development of Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone. He expressed deep gratitude to Shri Naidu ji, highlighting the remarkable evolution and growth of AMTZ as a symbol of India’s rising strength in MedTech innovation. He further highlighted AMTZ’s unique ecosystem, which brings together healthcare innovation, research, and global trade linkages. Dr Ashok Suthar, Transasia Group Company Secretary, delivered the word of thanks and said, “AMTZ has evolved from an improbable idea into a world-class MedTech hub with hundreds of companies and large-scale manufacturing capabilities.” The inauguration of The Atal MedTech Museum & Library reflects AMTZ’s identity as more than a MedTech hub – it is a living house of science where ideas move from concept to creation, innovation turns into invention, and new medical technologies are continuously shaped for real-world impact.
