Western India real-world data highlights the role of integrated oncology care, genomics, and nutrition in improving cancer outcomes
Mumbai, 2nd June 2026: M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre has announced that six of its research abstracts have been accepted for presentation at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting 2026, to be held from May 29 to June 2, 2026.
ASCO is among the world’s most prestigious oncology conferences, showcasing cutting-edge clinical and translational research that shapes global cancer care practices. This multi-abstract acceptance marks a significant milestone for Indian oncology research and reflects the growing contribution of real-world data from community cancer care networks.
Focus on nutrition, genomics, and real-world oncology outcomes
One study focuses on nutrition in cancer patients, highlighting the impact of treatment-related side effects on intake and recovery, and the importance of structured nutritional monitoring in improving outcomes.
The remaining studies include real-world outcomes in MSI-high colon cancer, along with evidence on the role of comprehensive genomic profiling in guiding treatment decisions in colon cancer.
Other research explores the genomic landscape of DNA repair pathway alterations in solid tumors, evaluates the impact of structured care programs in community oncology practice, and assesses cancer-related distress using standardized tools in routine clinical care.
Together, these studies highlight how real-world evidence spanning nutrition, genomics, disease subtypes, and patient-reported outcomes is shaping more integrated and practical cancer care in India.
Speaking on the achievement, Dr. Vashishth Maniar, Co-founder and Director M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre, said:
“Acceptance of six abstracts at ASCO 2026 reflects the strength of our focus on real-world oncology data and precision-based cancer care. These studies originate from everyday clinical challenges faced by patients across India and highlight the importance of integrating diagnostics, nutrition, and multidisciplinary care in improving outcomes.”
He further added:“At M|O|C, we view nutrition as a critical component of cancer treatment rather than a supportive measure. Our efforts to systematically track nutritional parameters alongside clinical outcomes allow us to better understand their impact on survival and treatment tolerance.”
Dr. Ashish Joshi, Co-founder and Director M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre, added:
“Research is central to improving cancer care delivery. The acceptance of these abstracts at ASCO reflects our ongoing effort to contribute meaningful clinical insights from India to the global oncology community. Our focus remains on generating evidence that directly informs patient care, improves adherence, and enhances both survival and quality of life.”
