In a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility in remote and underserved regions, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh (Yumnam Khemchand Singh) has flagged off 13 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) for deployment across the state’s hill districts. The initiative is aimed at delivering essential healthcare services directly to communities through doorstep consultations, diagnostics, and preventive care.
The mobile medical units will serve residents in geographically challenging areas where access to hospitals and specialist healthcare services remains limited. Equipped with diagnostic equipment and staffed by trained healthcare professionals, the units will provide primary healthcare, routine screenings, maternal and child health services, disease prevention programmes, and basic laboratory diagnostics.
