In a significant step towards advancing medical robotics in India, the Technology Innovation Hub Foundation for IoT and IoE (IHFC) at IIT Delhi and AIC-AMTZ MediValley at Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate innovation in medical robotics and intelligent healthcare technologies.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, under the aegis of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser. The agreement was signed by Mr. Ashutosh Dutt Sharma on behalf of IHFC and Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD & Founder CEO of AMTZ.

The partnership brings together IHFC’s expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cyber-physical systems and autonomous technologies with AMTZ’s integrated MedTech manufacturing and innovation ecosystem. By combining advanced research with world-class manufacturing capabilities, the collaboration aims to accelerate the development, testing and translation of next-generation medical robotic solutions into real-world healthcare applications.

With a focus on joint research, technology development, product validation and deep-tech startups, the initiative will enable innovators to leverage AMTZ’s manufacturing infrastructure, regulatory expertise and industry network to accelerate the journey from innovation to market. In doing so, it will strengthen India’s MedTech ecosystem and pave the way for globally competitive healthcare technologies.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD &Founder CEO, AMTZ, said, “India has the talent to lead the world in medical robotics. What we need is an ecosystem that transforms ideas into life-saving technologies. At AMTZ, we are building that ecosystem by bringing together innovation, manufacturing and entrepreneurship. This partnership with IHFC is a significant step towards developing world-class medical technologies in India, for the world.”

The event was attended by Dr. Vishal Choudhary, Scientist ‘F’; Dr. Santhosh S. Nair, Scientist ‘D’; and Dr. Shefali Uttam, Technical Staff, from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser; Mr. Yashwanth G, Project Director, Vizag Science & Technology Cluster; and representatives from IHFC and AMTZ.

This collaboration is another step towards AMTZ’s larger mission of building a future where every breakthrough in healthcare reaches the people who need it most.
