The allocation has risen from ₹83.23 crore in 2024–25 to ₹165.66 crore in 2025–26 and ₹185.75 crore this year. Total Centre-approved AYUSH funding for the state during 2024–25 to 2026–27 stands at ₹434.64 crore, compared with just ₹120.17 crore between 2014–15 and 2023–24.
A major focus of the latest plan is expanding AYUSH services in underserved and tribal areas. Nineteen mobile medical units will operate across nine Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) areas, providing free consultations, medicines and health-awareness services. About ₹1.26 crore has been earmarked for these units.
The plan also allocates ₹12.80 crore to modernise 64 AYUSH dispensaries and ₹22.16 crore for free medicines across 712 dispensaries. Another ₹38.84 crore has been earmarked to strengthen AYUSH educational institutions, including the proposed Government College of Naturopathy and Yoga with a 100-bed hospital at VIMS, Visakhapatnam.
Additional initiatives include six 50-bed integrated AYUSH hospitals, an AYUSH Sports Medicine Centre of Excellence in Kadapa, digitalisation of 601 dispensaries, connectivity for 126 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, and four alcohol de-addiction centres.
Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav attributed the record allocation to improved coordination between the Centre and state government and thanked the Union government for approving the plan. The expansion is expected to strengthen AYUSH infrastructure and improve access to traditional healthcare services across Andhra Pradesh.
