India’s new PMJAY Hospital Search service has gone live through the Unified Health Interface (UHI), allowing citizens to use participating digital health applications to locate PMJAY-empanelled hospitals nearby or in other states, and to access key details before planning a hospital visit.

The service is currently accessible through UHI-enabled, citizen-facing applications including Aarogya Setu 2.0, 5eCare, DRiefcase and healow. Through these apps, users can search for empanelled hospitals and view information such as available medical specialities and NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) accreditation status — helping patients make more informed decisions before seeking treatment.

This launch adds to the growing set of services being rolled out under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which aims to build an interoperable digital health ecosystem connecting patients, healthcare providers, insurers and government schemes through a common technical framework. By enabling hospital discovery directly within everyday health apps, the initiative is designed to make it easier for beneficiaries to access PMJAY-linked cashless treatment without needing to navigate separate government portals.

The move follows the continued expansion of AB-PMJAY, which has already scaled to cover all 36 states and Union Territories, with inter-state cashless care crossing ₹8,383 crore. Bringing hospital search directly into UHI-integrated apps marks a further step toward making PMJAY services more accessible and easier to navigate for citizens across the country.
