Philips recently shipped its first ‘Make in India’ Affiniti Ultrasound machine from its Healthcare Innovation Centre (HIC) in Pune. How can Indian customers benefit from the local manufacturing of the Affiniti ultrasound systems?
We are proud to ship our first ‘Make in India’ Affiniti Ultrasound machine from our Healthcare Innovation Centre (HIC) in Pune. Affiniti series is India’s most esteemed series from Philips Ultrasound with over 1700 installations across the country. A premium-quality ultrasound system, this state-of-the art solution offers doctors a powerful combination of performance and workflow for quick and efficient diagnosis with low operating cost.
The biggest advantage for customer is shorter supply time as it is manufactures locally in Pune.
How does the Affiniti ultrasound system enhance the patient and doctor experience when compared to other such systems?
The Affiniti series is renowned for its exceptional image quality across applications such as radiology, obstetrics and gynecology as well as cardiology, thereby, making it a truly shared service system. Designed keeping in mind the challenges of healthcare professionals, Affiniti creates an easier and more intuitive workflow to enhance detailed radiology and OB / GYN exams.
Affiniti series Knobology is designed for workflow enhancement with minimal keys, so that the user can complete studies in less time with more patient throughput.
In line with our Quadruple aim that includes improving staff and patient experience, Affiniti provides an intuitive, easy to use, user interface leading to faster scans and a higher patient throughput. The user configurable structured reporting in Affiniti reduces the reporting time. The patients benefit from this, as they get their reports faster and hence, they spend lesser time at the diagnostic center or hospitals.
What are the latest features that have been added to the Affiniti ultrasound system to aid in better diagnosis and workflow?
Affiniti ultrasound system features anatomically intelligent ultrasound that provides automatic anatomy recognition and quantification and PureWave transducer technology, which delivers better image quality. Additionally, the state-of-the art machine has the following features:
- Wholebody elastography solution: Both Shearwave and Strain Elastography are possible for various organs in the body in very less steps with proven Clinical publications across the world
- Contrast solution: Complete Contrast solution for both general imaging, gynecology and cardiology applications are readily available
- Vascular solution: Adaptive color, Auto Doppler and Auto Flow Tracking with smart exam protocols will drive the vascular exams with less time
- Even in echocardiography, features such as Auto Strain of Left Ventricle, Left Atrium & Right Ventricle provide one click quantification of cardiac chambers strain without inter and Intra observer variability
- aBiometry: The feature improves accuracy of fetal biometry measurements with help of anatomical intelligence & reduces study time
What are the other Philips solutions in Image-Guided Therapy (IGT) which can help improve patient outcomes in India?
Philips is the leader in Image-Guided Therapy, providing integrated solutions that advance minimally invasive procedures. We help healthcare providers to decide, guide, treat and confirm the right care in real time during the procedure to enable better clinical outcomes for each patient.
Our focus is on putting the customer needs at the forefront aligned with our objective of achieving Quadruple aim (improved outcomes, lowered costs, and an improved experience for patients and staff).
Philips Azurion is one such innovation in IGT. The platform allows clinicians to easily and confidently perform procedures and provide superior patient care. The highly intuitive usability of Azurion supports clinicians in confidently performing a range of procedures such as cardiac, neuro and vascular quickly. With the increasing number of patients & diseases with specific complexities, the need for better forms of image guidance and interventional devices become clear. Philips clinical suites offer a flexible portfolio of integrated technologies, devices and services for cardiac, vascular, oncology, neuro and spine interventions. Advanced integration capabilities on the Azurion also give the clinician the ability to access information from other imaging modalities like the Philips Epiq CVXi Ultrasound system, where the live cathlab image can be super imposed on the live ultrasound image to deliver a more precise treatment to the patient.
Additionally, we also have Hybrid OR solutions that create an innovative care environment for performing open and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Each of our clinical suites offers specific Image Guided Therapy solutions, that further provides additional choices and flexibility, ensuring exceptional care.
With Philips Image Guided Therapy Devices, we help clinicians achieve the goal of improving treatment for every patient. Our integrated solutions advance the art of minimally invasive procedures for patients with coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease or lead extraction indications. The medical community seeks ever more precise, accurate and efficient tools to decide, guide, treat and confirm the right therapy for the right patient at the point of care. The aim is to save and improve lives while reducing the total cost of care through more efficient, more appropriate and more personal therapies. Philips IGT products optimize diagnosis and helps in precision treatments. Physiology and Imaging devices help clinicians decide which patients need treatment. IVUS helps guide treatment, providing data about lesions for precise stent sizing and placement. Our atherectomy devices and specialty balloons help patients treat even the most complex procedures. IVUS and physiology data help confirm the effectiveness of treatment, creating the potential for the best patient outcomes.
How do you see digitization helping in the evolution of precision radiology and imaging products for Philips?
Amid rising patient volumes and a global shortage of qualified staff, there has been an increased pressure on the imaging departments. In such situations data integration and AI can aide in enhancing workflow and efficiency as well as improving the experience of staff and patients.
Philips is transforming radiology through intelligent solutions, improving operational performance and building workflow efficiency while enabling high quality and integrated clinical decision-making. Through patient-centric approach to diagnosis and treatment, Philips applies strong clinical capabilities, simplified workflows and integrates AI to help the clinician deliver on precision diagnosis.
