The Jharkhand government has announced plans to connect all 24 district Sadar hospitals with digital healthcare services, aiming to improve transparency, accessibility and real-time monitoring of hospital resources across the state.

Under the initiative, hospitals will install large digital information boards displaying the availability of doctors, medicines and other hospital facilities. Patients and their families will be able to access this information without having to visit multiple counters or depend on manual enquiries.

The initiative is being implemented through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with technology partner Rodic Consultants, with the objective of bringing digital systems into routine hospital operations. Health Secretary Ajay Kumar said adoption of modern digital technology is essential for improving the delivery and transparency of healthcare services.

The move builds on Jharkhand’s wider digital-health infrastructure under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which supports digital health identities, healthcare registries, consent-based health-record exchange and telemedicine services across the state.

The state government has also been working to strengthen digital monitoring of healthcare infrastructure and services. In June, Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed officials to improve digital monitoring of government hospitals and develop health profiles for citizens, including children.

With 24 Sadar hospitals being brought into the digital framework, the initiative is expected to give patients easier access to information on healthcare availability while helping authorities monitor hospital services more effectively.
