In a significant boost to Madhya Pradesh’s public healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has inaugurated a 300-bed district hospital in Indore, developed at a cost of ₹83.13 crore. The new facility is expected to improve access to advanced medical treatment, diagnostics and emergency care for residents of Indore as well as patients from neighbouring districts.

Designed as a multi-specialty government healthcare facility, the hospital offers a comprehensive range of clinical services, including outpatient (OPD) care, general medicine, general surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics, operation theatres, dialysis services, a pathology laboratory and inpatient wards. The hospital is also equipped with a modern nursing call system to enhance patient safety and improve the quality of inpatient care.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the new district hospital represents another major milestone in strengthening Indore’s healthcare ecosystem. He noted that the facility will cater not only to the city’s residents but also to patients from adjoining districts by providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services closer to home.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state’s commitment to expanding healthcare infrastructure while maintaining high standards in public construction projects. He added that investments in modern hospitals are aimed at improving health outcomes and reducing the burden on tertiary care institutions.

The inauguration aligns with Madhya Pradesh’s broader efforts to modernise government healthcare facilities and enhance secondary healthcare capacity amid rising demand for specialised medical services. With 300 inpatient beds and integrated diagnostic and treatment facilities, the hospital is expected to reduce patient referrals, improve service delivery and strengthen the state’s public health network.

Healthcare experts believe the addition of the new district hospital will significantly enhance healthcare accessibility in the Malwa region by supporting timely diagnosis, emergency care, maternal and child health services, dialysis treatment and surgical interventions under the state’s expanding public healthcare framework.
