Marking the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2026, the Blood
Center of Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIIMS) organized a successful
Blood Donation Camp on campus, witnessing active participation from donors committed to
supporting life saving healthcare services and promoting awareness around voluntary blood
donation.

The camp was organized under the patronage of Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman, Noida
International University, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to community healthcare,
preventive medicine, and social responsibility. A large number of volunteers and donors
enthusiastically participated in the initiative, contributing towards strengthening the availability of
safe blood for patients in need.

Organized under the supervision of Dr. Arun Chaudhary, Head of the Department of
Pathology, and Dr. Sarwat Fatma, Blood Bank In charge, the event was efficiently conducted
with the dedicated support of the departmental team, including Dr. Ayush Saxena, Dr. Ajeet
Yadav, and Chief Technician Mr. Ravi Kaushal. Mr. Vinod Nagar, Marketing Head, also
played an active role in coordinating and supporting the successful execution of the event.

During the program, blood donors collectively took an oath to create awareness regarding the
importance of safe and voluntary blood donation among their family members, relatives, and
colleagues. Participants also pledged to donate blood selflessly, without discrimination or
personal gain, whenever required for saving lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman, Noida International
University, said, “Blood donation is one of the noblest contributions an individual can make
toward humanity. A single blood donation has the potential to save multiple lives during medical
emergencies, surgeries, trauma care, and critical illnesses. At Noida International University and
NIIMS, we strongly believe in promoting healthcare awareness and encouraging young

individuals to become responsible contributors to society through voluntary blood donation.”
Highlighting the medical importance of maintaining adequate blood reserves, Dr. Arun
Chaudhary, HOD, Department of Pathology, stated, “Blood cannot be manufactured
artificially, and its availability remains critical for emergency care, maternal health, cancer
treatment, and major surgeries. Awareness driven initiatives like these are essential to building
a culture of regular, voluntary blood donation and ensuring timely access to safe blood for
patients.”

Dr. Sarwat Fatma, Blood Bank In charge, noted that maintaining a healthy and sufficient
blood inventory is essential for ensuring uninterrupted patient care and emergency medical
preparedness.

The event concluded on a socially impactful note, with participants expressing enthusiasm to
continue contributing toward blood donation awareness campaigns in the future. Through such
initiatives, NIIMS continues to strengthen public health engagement and encourage
community participation in life saving healthcare practices, reinforcing the message of
“Donate Blood, Save Lives.”
