The Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) today launched the MedTech Hackathon 2026, “Hack Health: Innovate to Heal,” bringing together startups, innovators, clinicians, and industry leaders to rapidly develop technology driven solutions for pressing healthcare challenges.
Scheduled from April 4 to April 7, 2026, the hackathon opened to strong participation, with over 300 participants, including more than 150 startups and teams, from all over the country, reflecting the accelerating momentum of India’s medtech innovation ecosystem.
“The Hackathon serves as a collaborative platform where innovators can learn, create, and make their ideas a reality in healthcare.” said Dr Jitendra Sharma, MD & Founder CEO of AMTZ. He further added, “Whether your concept is an app, a diagnostic device, or a complex medical instrument, the key is to build a working prototype, define a clear path to success, and gain hands on experience. At AMTZ, incubation, co incubation, or strategic partnership provides the infrastructure, tools, and guidance to transform R&D and prototypes into impactful healthcare solutions. Ideas gain credibility when realised start developing, experimenting, and bringing innovations to life.”
Over four days, participating teams, including startups and students, will showcase their ideas to a panel of esteemed evaluators. They will engage in intensive prototyping, hands on problem solving, and collaborative innovation challenges to transform concepts into scalable solutions with real world healthcare impact.
“AMTZ provides a comprehensive ecosystem for startups and innovators across medical devices, biologics, diagnostics, and more. Through BioValley, one of our incubator arm, we support teams in developing prototypes, conducting pre clinical testing, and scaling products for real world healthcare impact. Hackathons like this accelerate innovation, helping ideas transform into solutions that can truly improve patient care,” said Dr Suseela Branham K, CEO of BioValley Incubation Council.
CEO of MediValley Incubation Council, Dilip Kumar Chekuri, during the event, said, “MediValley is designed to empower medical electronics startups with end to end support from prototyping and pre compliance testing, to design, production setup, and calibration. By leveraging our labs and expert guidance, innovators participating in the MedTech Hackathon can rapidly translate their ideas into validated, scalable solutions, driving India’s position as a global hub for medical technology development.”
Participants will be evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising experts from diverse domains, including dentistry, industrial design, robotics, cardiology, medical software, medtech investments and operations, medical electronics and electrical engineering, assistive technology, and research, ensuring a comprehensive and multidisciplinary assessment of innovations.
Throughout the hackathon, the startups will be working closely within AMTZ’s advanced technical centers, translating ideas into scalable solutions with healthcare impact. The event will also provide opportunities for mentorship, networking, and access to potential investors and industry partners.
With the MedTech Hackathon 2026, AMTZ continues to reinforce its commitment toward fostering innovation, enabling collaboration, and positioning India as a global hub for medical technology development and manufacturing.
