US-based biopharmaceutical solutions company Syneos Health has unveiled a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad to expand its presence in India and strengthen the city’s position as a hub for life sciences and healthcare GCCs.

Located at Phoenix Equinox in Gachibowli, the facility is Syneos Health’s largest centre in Asia and its third-largest globally.

The new hub brings together expertise in clinical development, patient safety, medical affairs, and commercialisation, combined with capabilities in artificial intelligence, data engineering, and technology. The company is positioning the Hyderabad centre as a base for AI, data, and technology work, with a focus on developing and deploying technology within real-world healthcare and biopharmaceutical workflows.

The facility is designed to build production-ready AI solutions intended to support clinical trials, improve patient-safety processes, accelerate scientific insights and enable smarter healthcare and commercial decision-making.

By combining biopharma expertise with Hyderabad’s strong life-sciences ecosystem, technology talent and advanced analytics capabilities, the new hub aims to strengthen Telangana’s position as a global destination for healthcare innovation, AI and next-generation life-sciences technology.

Key AI Applications Being Developed at the Hyderabad Hub

The Hyderabad AI hub is working across several applications, including AI-driven clinical protocol design, predictive site selection, intelligent assistants, pharmacovigilance automation, signal detection and medical review.

The technology initiatives span multiple stages of the biopharmaceutical lifecycle, including AI-assisted clinical protocol design, patient recruitment, study oversight, and predictive analytics in clinical development.

In pharmacovigilance, the centre will use natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs) to support case processing and safety-signal detection, while multimodal analytics will be applied to clinical surveillance to help identify treatment patterns and patient needs.

The centre will also develop retrieval-augmented systems and domain-specific AI agents for scientific and commercial decision-making, alongside AI and analytics applications for commercial strategy, customer engagement, and market access.

A Human-in-the-Loop AI Strategy

Headquartered in North Carolina, Syneos Health works with pharmaceutical and medical device companies across clinical development, medical affairs, and commercialisation. According to the company, its AI strategy is designed specifically for regulated and high-stakes healthcare environments, with human expertise remaining an integral part of how the technology is deployed.

Syneos Health is also expanding its Hyderabad workforce across specialised technology, data, and scientific roles as it builds out the new centre.

Part of Telangana’s Growing GCC Ecosystem

The initiative builds on Telangana’s ongoing efforts to expand Hyderabad’s GCC ecosystem, particularly across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, and life sciences sectors. This follows a similar recent move by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, which announced plans to establish its own Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad as part of its strategy to expand global operations and strengthen its long-term presence in India.
