Mumbai, April 7, 2026: On the occasion of World Health Day, Thyrocare Technologies Limited, one of India’s leading diagnostic service providers, has launched the ‘Bharat Aarogyam Score’—one of the country’s largest real-world preventive health analyses. Based on over 93 lakh health checkups conducted between 2023 and 2025, the report reveals a concerning rise in silent health risks across the population, with early signs of multiple conditions emerging as early as individuals’ 20s.

The analysis highlights that more than 9 out of 10 individuals show early signs of at least one health condition, while a significant proportion exhibit multiple overlapping risk factors. The findings underscore the urgent need to shift focus from reactive treatment to proactive and preventive healthcare.

Comprehensive Health Risk Evaluation

The Bharat Aarogyam Score evaluates 10 key health condition groups, including cancer risk indicators, diabetes, heart health, hemoglobin levels, iron status, kidney and liver function, thyroid health, and deficiencies in Vitamin D and Vitamin B12. By integrating multiple biomarkers, the score provides a holistic view of an individual’s health profile.

Rising Burden of Multiple Health Risks

The report reveals that health risks rarely occur in isolation:

Over 8 in 10 individuals are at risk for at least two conditions

More than 6 in 10 show risk for at least three conditions

Nearly 4 in 10 have four or more risk factors

Around 2 in 10 face five or more health risks

These findings indicate a growing trend of co-existing health conditions, making early detection and integrated care increasingly critical.

Early Onset of Non-Communicable Diseases

The analysis highlights a worrying trend—the early onset of non-communicable diseases:

Heart health risks double by the 30s
Diabetes risk more than doubles by the 40s
Kidney-related risks increase significantly after 60
Thyroid imbalance shows a steady rise across age groups

These patterns suggest that health risks develop gradually over time, reinforcing the importance of routine preventive screening.

Gender-Based Health Insights

The report also identifies notable gender differences:

Low hemoglobin levels are ~2.5 times higher in females

Liver abnormalities are 1.5 times higher in males

Vitamin B12 deficiency is more common in males

Thyroid imbalance is only marginally higher in females

Industry Leaders Emphasize Preventive Healthcare

Commenting on the findings, Rahul Guha, MD & CEO, Thyrocare, said:
“India is not sick, India is unaware. Our data shows that 9 out of 10 people carry silent health risks they know nothing about. Prevention must become a habit, not an afterthought. The opportunity for India lies not just in better hospitals, but in better awareness.”

Rajdeep Panwar, Chief Commercial Officer, added:
“The Bharat Aarogyam Score highlights overlapping health risks and the need for a holistic approach. By simplifying complex health data into actionable insights, it empowers individuals to take charge of their health.”

Dr. Preet Kaur, Chief Scientific Officer, noted:
“Heart disease and diabetes are no longer conditions of middle age—they are emerging much earlier. This calls for a shift from episodic treatment to continuous preventive vigilance.”

A Call for Preventive Health Awareness

As India’s health landscape evolves, the Bharat Aarogyam Score serves as a critical reminder of the importance of early detection, regular health monitoring, and informed decision-making. The findings reinforce the need to strengthen preventive healthcare practices to improve long-term health outcomes and reduce disease burden.
