Patient Safety and Access Initiative of India Foundation (PSAIIF) was registered under the provisions of the Companies Act of 2013 Section 8, as a not-for-profit organisation, on 20^th of May 2015 CIN U85300DL2015NPL280515 in New Delhi. The key objective of the organisation is to integrate spurious with counterfeit, falsified, substandard and unsafe medicines, involve all the stakeholders in an equitable manner to learn from modern technology available around the world to empower and enable consumers to detect and access safe medicines, to ensure consumer health & safety prevails over profit and to focus on the poor and vulnerable consumers in developing countries to seek benefit from PSAIIF Initiative to access quality healthcare in an affordable manner and work towards Universal Health Coverage by 2030.

PSAIIF in the last three years has focused on working with various reputed organisations like the Quality Council of India (QCI) to promote quality and patient safety in the country in collaboration with National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) by conducting webinars and education programs. We also worked during the COVID-19 Pandemic in creating awareness on Ayush and working with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of Ayush, Government of India on Integrative Healthcare and strengthening the Health & Wellness Centres under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. We have conducted pilot initiatives in Banaras along with Banaras Hindu University and Government of Uttar Pradesh in establishing rural primary healthcare centres and worked closely with the Drug Regulators on improving the supply of Generic Medicines and also promoting Ayush to assure accessibility of quality healthcare. We also published the Mahamana Declaration on Ayush.

We also regularly publish newsletters and publications concerning the health and safety of the consumer. We have encouraged consumers to reach out to us to share their thoughts on how to tackle the menace of spurious and not of standard quality medicines in the supply chain and reporting of Adverse Drug Reaction under the PvPi Initiative managed by IPC and CDSCO.

In the next two years we propose to focus on enabling citizens to access health insurance, especially the middle class population to eradicate poverty, which is mainly caused due to high cost of healthcare in India. We wish to facilitate India to achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030. We are closely working with the Insurance Companies and the Insurance Regulator IRDAI.
