India-based medical device manufacturer BPL Medical Technologies has announced the acquisition of Yozma BMtech Co., Ltd., a South Korea–based firm specializing in bone mineral density (BMD) diagnostic technologies, in a strategic move to expand its preventive healthcare and imaging diagnostics portfolio.
Following the acquisition, BPL Medical Technologies has introduced BMtech’s advanced bone mineral density measuring systems in key markets including India and Dubai. The systems are designed to support early screening and monitoring of osteoporosis and other bone-related disorders, addressing the growing demand for preventive diagnostics amid ageing populations and lifestyle-related health risks.
The newly introduced diagnostic solutions incorporate high-speed scanning, high-resolution imaging, and low-radiation exposure, enhancing both patient safety and diagnostic accuracy. Built using fan-beam technology with multi-channel detectors, the systems can measure bone density across multiple anatomical sites and support whole-body densitometry and body composition analysis in select models.
Industry experts note that the integration of BMtech’s technology strengthens BPL’s capabilities in preventive diagnostics, musculoskeletal imaging, and women’s health, particularly in the early detection and management of osteoporosis among post-menopausal women. The compact design of the systems also enables installation in hospitals and diagnostic centres with limited space, expanding accessibility to bone health screening services.
Commenting on the acquisition, Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director of BPL Medical Technologies, stated that strengthening bone health diagnostics is a critical step toward improving preventive healthcare outcomes.
The acquisition is expected to accelerate innovation in imaging and diagnostics by combining BMtech’s specialized bone density technology with BPL’s manufacturing capabilities, distribution network, and clinical expertise. The move also supports the company’s broader strategy of expanding its global footprint and enhancing access to advanced diagnostic technologies in emerging healthcare markets.
Healthcare analysts believe the development reflects the increasing emphasis on preventive diagnostics and early disease detection, areas expected to see significant growth as healthcare systems worldwide shift toward proactive and data-driven care models.
