of Medical Sciences (NIIMS), Greater Noida, organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME)
seminar titled “Recent Advances in Perinatal Diagnosis and Therapy” to mark International
Women’s Day 2026. The seminar focused on the latest developments in prenatal diagnosis and
therapeutic interventions aimed at improving maternal and fetal health outcomes.
The event was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Megha Ranjan, Head of the Department
of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with coordination by Dr. Tejasa Mishra and Dr. Damandeep
Kaur. The CME aimed to highlight emerging medical technologies and evidence-based
practices that support early detection and management of fetal conditions.
The seminar began with a welcome address by senior leadership of Noida International Institute
of Medical Sciences, including Dr. S.N. Gupta, Director, Dr. Manisha Jindal, Dean, and Dr.
Ranjit Ghuliani, Medical Superintendent, who emphasized the institution’s commitment to
strengthening women’s healthcare and promoting medical education through academic
platforms.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Seema Thakur, Director of the Genetic Clinic at Fortis
Hospital. During her session, she discussed recent advancements in non-invasive prenatal
testing (NIPT), fetal imaging techniques, and therapeutic options for managing complex
fetal conditions. She also highlighted the importance of ethical considerations and
personalized care in modern prenatal diagnostics.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Thakur said, “Prenatal diagnosis has transformed the way we
approach pregnancy. Early detection of potential complications allows healthcare professionals
to take timely and proactive steps to ensure better outcomes for both mothers and babies.”
The CME witnessed active participation from faculty members, researchers, and medical
students from various departments, creating an engaging academic environment for knowledge
exchange and professional learning. The program also included a felicitation ceremony to honor
the guest speaker for her contribution to the field of perinatal medicine.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Damandeep Kaur, who
expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and participants for contributing to
the success of the academic session.
Through initiatives like this CME, Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences continues to
