UAE President has announced the launch of a unified national health insurance system covering all seven Emirates, marking a major step toward strengthening universal healthcare access and healthcare modernization across the country.
The newly introduced framework aims to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage for Emirati citizens nationwide, allowing easier access to specialized hospitals, medical centres, and advanced treatment services regardless of emirate boundaries.
Alongside the insurance expansion, the UAE government also plans to enhance its digital healthcare infrastructure through interconnected electronic systems linking hospitals and clinics nationwide. The initiative will further strengthen the country’s “Riayati” unified medical records platform, improving patient data accessibility, treatment coordination, and healthcare efficiency.
The UAE, home to more than 10 million residents across seven Emirates, continues to emerge as one of the Middle East’s fastest growing healthcare markets through investments in digital health, AI enabled healthcare systems, telemedicine, and preventive healthcare programmes.
Healthcare experts believe the nationwide insurance system could improve healthcare accessibility, streamline patient services, and strengthen operational efficiency across both public and private healthcare sectors.
Further implementation details and rollout timelines are expected to be announced by UAE health authorities in the coming months.
