State owned healthcare products and services company HLL Lifecare Ltd has announced a major expansion of its healthcare services portfolio through the launch of advanced diagnostics solutions, the strengthening of its AMRIT Plus pharmacy network, and a new partnership with the Government of Odisha to establish a Trauma Care Centre in Jajpur district.

The company said the expansion is aimed at improving access to affordable and quality healthcare services while supporting the government’s broader objective of strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the country. As part of the initiative, HLL is enhancing its diagnostics capabilities to offer a wider range of laboratory and diagnostic services, enabling faster and more accurate disease detection and management.

A key component of the expansion is the growth of the AMRIT Plus pharmacy chain, which provides medicines, medical devices and healthcare products at subsidized rates. The AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) initiative has played a significant role in reducing healthcare costs for patients by offering lif saving medicines, cardiac stents, implants and surgical consumables at prices lower than prevailing market rates. The programme complements the government’s efforts to reduce out of pocket healthcare expenditure for patients, which remains one of the major healthcare challenges in India.

In another significant development, HLL Lifecare has partnered with the Government of Odisha to establish and operate a Trauma Care Centre at Panikoili in Jajpur district. The proposed facility is expected to strengthen emergency and critical care services in the region, particularly for accident victims and patients requiring immediate medical intervention. Panikoili is strategically located along one of Odisha’s busiest transportation corridors, making trauma care infrastructure critical for improving emergency response and patient outcomes.

HLL Lifecare, a Mini Ratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has been at the forefront of public healthcare initiatives for decades.
