The Adani Group has announced an ambitious expansion into the healthcare sector, unveiling plans to establish integrated healthcare campuses featuring 1,000-bed multi speciality hospitals, medical colleges, research centres and transitional care facilities. The announcement was made by Chairman Gautam Adani while addressing shareholders at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026.

Highlighting the group’s long term vision for healthcare, Adani said the upcoming campuses are being designed as comprehensive healthcare ecosystems that will integrate advanced patient care, medical education, clinical research and rehabilitation services under one roof. The initiative is aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare while contributing to India’s growing demand for tertiary and quaternary medical services.

According to the company, each healthcare campus will include a 1,000-bed multi-speciality hospital, a medical college for training future healthcare professionals, advanced research facilities focused on clinical innovation and translational medicine, and transitional care centres to support patients recovering from major illnesses, surgeries and critical care treatments. The integrated model is expected to strengthen continuity of care while promoting research driven healthcare delivery.

The announcement builds on the Adani Group’s ₹6,000 crore commitment, made in partnership with the Adani Family, to develop world-class healthcare infrastructure across India. The initiative is being undertaken in collaboration with Mayo Clinic Global Consulting, which is providing strategic expertise in clinical planning, hospital design and operational excellence to help establish globally benchmarked healthcare institutions.

India’s healthcare sector is projected to surpass USD 600 billion by 2030, driven by rising healthcare expenditure, increasing burden of chronic diseases, expanding health insurance coverage and growing demand for advanced medical infrastructure. Healthcare experts estimate that India continues to face a shortage of hospital beds and specialist healthcare facilities, making large-scale investments in integrated medical campuses increasingly important.

The proposed expansion also reflects the growing emphasis on combining healthcare delivery with medical education and research. By integrating hospitals, teaching institutions and research centres, the campuses aim to support innovation, develop skilled healthcare professionals and accelerate the adoption of advanced medical technologies.

Industry experts believe such integrated healthcare ecosystems can significantly improve patient outcomes by enabling multidisciplinary care, fostering clinical research and creating centres of excellence for specialized treatment. The addition of transitional care facilities is also expected to strengthen post acute care services, an area receiving increasing attention within India’s healthcare system.

With the proposed healthcare campuses, the Adani Group is positioning itself as a significant entrant in India’s healthcare infrastructure sector. The initiative is expected to contribute to expanding tertiary healthcare capacity, promoting medical innovation and improving access to high quality healthcare services for patients across the country.
