Dr. GSK Velu, Chairman, FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council & CMD, Trivitron Healthcare, Neuberg Diagnostics and Maxivision Eye Hospitals, has been conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 5th Dr. K.C.G. Verghese Excellence Awards 2026, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to India’s healthcare, diagnostics, medical technology and eye care sectors.

The award was presented by Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.D. Jagadish Chandira, Judge, Madras High Court, during the awards ceremony hosted by the Hindustan Group of Institutions in Chennai. Instituted in memory of the late Dr. K.C.G. Verghese, the awards honour distinguished leaders whose work has created a lasting impact across industry and society.

With over 37 years of experience in healthcare and diagnostics, Dr. Velu has played a pioneering role in strengthening India’s healthcare manufacturing, diagnostics, medtech and ophthalmology ecosystem. Through his leadership across Trivitron Healthcare, Neuberg Diagnostics and Maxivision Eye Hospitals, he has consistently championed affordable, high quality healthcare solutions, indigenous innovation, industry academia collaboration and globally competitive healthcare capabilities.

Dr. Velu also serves as Chairman of the FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council for the sixth consecutive year, a role in which he has been actively contributing to industry engagement across healthcare manufacturing, diagnostics, med tech, innovation and policy collaboration. His leadership continues to support Tamil Nadu’s positioning as a key hub for healthcare investment, manufacturing excellence and knowledge-driven growth. He is also mentor, director & investor at Kauvery Hospitals, General partner and lending partner in Stakeboat Capital  a full blown private equity company, Founder & Director of Apollo White Dental & Apollo Dialysis network.
