The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched a monthly webinar series under the National Health Mission (NHM) to facilitate knowledge sharing, promote innovation and accelerate the adoption of best practices in healthcare delivery across States and Union Territories.

According to an official press release, the initiative has been conceived as a year round knowledge sharing platform where States and UTs will showcase successful public health interventions, exchange implementation experiences and discuss scalable, evidence based solutions to strengthen healthcare systems nationwide.

The webinar series aims to foster collaboration among policymakers, healthcare administrators and programme managers by highlighting innovative approaches in areas such as maternal and child health, disease control, digital health, primary healthcare, quality assurance and health systems strengthening. The Ministry said the platform will help replicate proven models and improve programme implementation across the country.

Launched in 2005, the National Health Mission (NHM) is the Government of India’s flagship programme for strengthening public healthcare, with a focus on improving access, affordability and quality of services, particularly in rural and underserved areas. The mission supports key initiatives including maternal and child healthcare, immunisation, communicable and non-communicable disease control, health infrastructure development and human resource strengthening.

The Ministry noted that the webinar series will encourage continuous learning and enable States to adopt successful strategies based on practical field experiences, supporting more effective implementation of NHM programmes.

Healthcare experts have welcomed the initiative, stating that structured knowledge-sharing platforms can help reduce implementation gaps, promote innovation and improve healthcare outcomes through faster dissemination of successful models. They believe regular collaboration between States will strengthen India’s public health system and contribute to more efficient, evidence based healthcare delivery nationwide.
