Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has inaugurated Ashoka Health City and the Ashoka Women & Children Hospital in Nashik, marking a major addition to healthcare infrastructure in North Maharashtra. The integrated healthcare campus aims to improve access to advanced super speciality care, medical education and research for patients across the region.
Developed by the Ashoka Group in collaboration with HOSMAC, Ashoka Health City has been designed as a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem that combines advanced clinical care, medical education, research and patient-centric services under one campus. The facility is expected to reduce the need for patients from North Maharashtra to travel to metropolitan cities for specialised treatment.
A key highlight of the project is the 115-bed Ashoka Women & Children Hospital, the first theme-based exclusive Women & Children Hospital in North Maharashtra. The dedicated hospital will provide specialised maternal, neonatal, paediatric and women’s healthcare services supported by modern medical technology and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
According to the developers, the integrated campus has been established to strengthen regional healthcare infrastructure while improving access to quality super speciality treatment closer to patients’ homes. The project also aims to promote clinical excellence, medical training and research, contributing to the long term development of healthcare services in the region.
Healthcare experts say integrated healthcare campuses play a crucial role in expanding access to advanced medical care, particularly in rapidly growing cities where demand for specialised services continues to rise. Dedicated women and children’s hospitals are also expected to improve maternal and child health outcomes by offering comprehensive care under one roof.
The inauguration of Ashoka Health City reflects the growing investment in regional healthcare infrastructure and is expected to strengthen the availability of specialised, technology enabled and patient focused healthcare services across North Maharashtra.
