API Holdings, the parent company of Thyrocare Technologies, has become debt-free after repaying ₹1,050 crore, strengthening its balance sheet and financial position. The company said the repayment was funded through proceeds from the sale of a portion of its stake in Thyrocare Technologies along with internal accruals.

The repayment marks a significant deleveraging milestone for API Holdings, which owns businesses including PharmEasy and Thyrocare. The company cleared its outstanding ₹1,050 crore term loan through a combination of internal accruals and the sale of 9.90% of Thyrocare Technologies by its promoter and holding entity, Docon Technologies.

Following the transaction, Docon Technologies sold 1,57,69,696 Thyrocare shares, while retaining a 51.02% controlling stake in the diagnostics company. Importantly, the repayment also resulted in the release of the pledge on the remaining Thyrocare shares, leaving Docon’s entire retained stake unencumbered.

The development comes after API Holdings had been steadily reducing its debt burden. In May 2026, the company’s outstanding debt was reported at around ₹1,050 crore, down from approximately ₹1,800 crore when its debt-reduction efforts accelerated.

According to the company, the complete repayment allows API Holdings to shift its focus towards profitable growth, disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation across its healthcare businesses. The company’s portfolio spans digital pharmacy, diagnostics, healthcare distribution and institutional supply.

The debt-free status also strengthens API Holdings’ financial flexibility while allowing it to retain majority control of Thyrocare Technologies. The company said the milestone represents a transition from a period focused on deleveraging to its next phase of operational growth and sustainable profitability.
