Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has successfully linked over 100 crore health records with Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA), marking a major milestone in India’s digital healthcare journey.
Implemented by the National Health Authority (NHA), the initiative is helping build a connected healthcare ecosystem where patients can digitally access and share medical records across hospitals and healthcare providers.
According to official data, over 60 crore ABHA accounts have already been created nationwide. The linked records include prescriptions, lab reports, discharge summaries, and diagnostic reports generated through both public and private healthcare facilities.
Officials say the system is improving healthcare accessibility, reducing paperwork, and helping doctors access patient history faster for better treatment decisions. The ABDM framework also operates on a consent based system to ensure privacy and secure sharing of medical records.
Healthcare experts believe the milestone reflects India’s rapidly growing adoption of digital health infrastructure and could significantly strengthen patient care, telemedicine services, and healthcare delivery across urban and rural regions in the coming years.
