Artemis Hospitals has announced its expansion into Central India with the development of a new multi-speciality hospital in Raipur, a move aimed at strengthening access to advanced tertiary healthcare services in the region.

The upcoming facility will feature more than 300 beds, over 50 medical and surgical specialties, and 11 Centres of Excellence, making it one of the largest private healthcare investments in Chhattisgarh’s capital. The hospital is expected to offer comprehensive care across key specialties including cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, critical care, nephrology, and organ transplantation.

Healthcare industry experts say the expansion reflects the growing demand for high-quality tertiary and quaternary healthcare services in Central India, where patients often travel to metropolitan cities for advanced treatment. The new hospital is expected to reduce this gap by bringing specialized care closer to patients in Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states.

Raipur has emerged as an important healthcare hub in recent years due to rising healthcare infrastructure investments, increasing medical demand, and improved connectivity. The addition of a large multi-speciality hospital is expected to enhance the region’s capacity to manage complex medical cases while improving patient access to advanced diagnostics and treatment.

India’s healthcare sector is witnessing rapid expansion, driven by rising disease burden, growing health awareness, increasing insurance penetration, and demand for specialized care. Industry estimates project the Indian healthcare market to continue growing steadily over the coming decade, creating opportunities for hospital networks to expand into emerging healthcare markets.

Officials said the Raipur facility will be equipped with advanced medical technology, modern operating theatres, intensive care units, and integrated patient care systems. The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities for healthcare professionals, nursing staff, technicians, and allied healthcare workers.

Healthcare analysts believe the expansion aligns with broader efforts to improve healthcare accessibility outside major metropolitan centres and strengthen India’s regional healthcare infrastructure. Once operational, the hospital is expected to serve patients from Chhattisgarh as well as neighbouring regions of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra.
