Bartronics, a leading player in advanced medical technology and healthcare solutions, today announced the acquisition of a minority stake in Huwel, an emerging innovator in the diagnostic devices space, for a consideration of ₹50 crore.

The strategic investment underscores Bartronics’ commitment to expanding its footprint in the fast-growing diagnostics sector, with a focus on innovative solutions for early detection, point-of-care testing, and advanced molecular diagnostics.

Huwel, known for its specialized diagnostic device portfolio, has built a strong reputation in areas such as infectious disease testing, molecular diagnostics, and portable point-of-care platforms. With this capital infusion, the company aims to accelerate its R&D pipeline, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and broaden its global outreach.

Speaking on the announcement, CEO of Bartronics, said:

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision of leveraging innovation to bridge gaps in accessible and affordable diagnostics. Huwel’s strong research-driven approach and Bartronics’ market reach will together create a robust ecosystem to address pressing healthcare challenges in India and beyond.”

“We are delighted to welcome Bartronics as a strategic investor. Their support will enable us to scale faster, bring new technologies to market, and contribute to India’s mission of becoming a global hub for affordable healthcare innovations.”

Industry analysts see the deal as a significant move, as the diagnostic devices sector in India is expected to grow at a double-digit CAGR over the next five years, driven by rising demand for rapid diagnostics, increased healthcare awareness, and government initiatives supporting MedTech innovation.

The transaction further positions Bartronics as a key enabler in India’s healthcare technology landscape, while reinforcing Huwel’s ambition to be a leader in the diagnostics innovation space.
