One hundred and fifty-four UG and eleven PG graduates’ step into the medical profession with a strong commitment to ethics, excellence, and service

 

East Point College of Medical Sciences & Research Centre hosted its Graduation Ceremony 2026 at its Campus, “Jnanaprabha,” recently marking a significant milestone as 165 medical graduates stepped into the next phase of their professional journey.

 

The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. S. Chandrashekar Shetty, former Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The occasion was also graced by Smt. B. L. Ramadevi, Chairperson, East Point Group of Institutions and Managing Trustee, M. G. Charitable Trust; Sri S. V. Pramod Gowda and Sri Rajiv Gowda, CEOs of East Point Group of Institutions; along with Dr. Rajeshwari, Medical Advisor, East Point College of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (EPCMS & RC).

 

In his graduation address, Prof. Dr. S. Chandrashekar Shetty emphasized the importance of professionalism, compassion, and lifelong learning in the evolving field of medicine, encouraging graduates to uphold ethical values while adapting to advancements in healthcare.

 

Dr. D. Premkumar, Dean & Principal, East Point College of Medical Science and Research Centre welcomed the gathering and presented the Annual Report, highlighting the institution’s academic progress, clinical excellence, and key achievements over the past year. Shri Peter Francis, Secretary, paid tribute to the Late Chairman, Dr. S M Venkatapathi reflecting on his vision and enduring legacy.

 

Sri S. V. Pramod Gowda, CEO, East Point Group of Institutions, said: “At East Point, we take immense pride in nurturing healthcare professionals who combine clinical excellence with compassion and ethical responsibility. The Graduation Ceremony is not just a celebration of academic achievement, but a reflection of our commitment to shaping doctors who are prepared to serve society with integrity and dedication.”

 

A defining moment of the ceremony was the administration of the Hippocratic Oath by Dr. Prabhakar, reinforcing the graduates’ commitment to ethical medical practice and patient care.

 

The event saw 154 undergraduate (UG) and 11 postgraduate (PG) students receive their degrees. Academic excellence was recognized through awards across key medical disciplines, including Anatomy, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, General Medicine, and Surgery. Rakshitha G was honoured as the Overall Best Outgoing Student (Academics) for her outstanding academic performance and university ranks.

 

Graduating students shared reflections on their journey, expressing gratitude to faculty and mentors for their guidance and support. Students who contributed to cultural activities were also recognized, showcasing the institution’s emphasis on holistic development.

 

The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Narendra P. Datti, Medical Superintendent, EPCMS & RC, expressing appreciation to all dignitaries, faculty members, students, and organizers for their contributions.

 

The Graduation Ceremony 2026 underscored a simple yet powerful message: becoming a doctor is not just about earning a degree – it is about embracing responsibility, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to healing and service.
