Manipal Hospital, Bhubaneswar Sets Up 3 bedded Temporary Medical Centre for Puri Ratha Yatra 2026

Manipal Hospital, Bhubaneswar, in association with the Chief
District Medical Officer (CDMO), Puri, has established a temporary 3-bedded hospital near
Talabania Bus Stand to provide emergency medical care during Ratha Yatra 2026. The
initiative has been undertaken as per the directions of the Department of Health & Family
Welfare, Government of Odisha, and the CDMO, Puri.

 

The facility will be operational from July 16 to July 28, 2026, offering first aid, emergency
treatment, and medical support to devotees, tourists, and local residents. It is staffed by
doctors and nurses and equipped with emergency medicines, with ambulance support
available for referrals to higher centres when required.

 

To strengthen emergency response, a 5G-enabled advanced life support ambulance has also
been stationed at the site. Equipped with ventilators, defibrillators, patient monitoring
systems, and telemedicine capabilities, it will enable rapid stabilization and transfer of
critically ill patients.

 

Dr. Saktimaya Mohapatra, Cluster Director, South East, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar,
said, "Ratha Yatra brings together millions of devotees, making timely medical support
essential. Through this initiative, we are working alongside the district health administration
to ensure emergency care is readily available, helping devotees access prompt medical
attention whenever needed during the festival."
