Training course brought nurses and faculty from across Delhi NCR together for skill-based learning and critical care awareness

Greater Noida, September 15, 2026: To celebrate World Sepsis Day 2026, the Department of Medical ICU at ShardaCare – Healthcity organised the Sepsis Life Savers Skills Course, a skill-based training on sepsis and critical care with the participation of over 50 nurses. The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr Anil Kumar, Director and Head, Department of Medical ICU with faculty and speakers from across Delhi-NCR. The training programme comprised expert lectures and case studies based on sepsis recognition, management and timely intervention.

The training was conducted with a focus on sepsis identification and management through case-based learning. The programme was conducted to enhance clinical skills in nurses and impart them practical knowledge for better patient care. As part of the World Sepsis Day activities, the hospital also hosted a patient engagement programme for attendants and visitors of patients in the Critical Care Unit. Simulation-based demonstrations of critical care procedures on mannequins such as CPR, intubation, oxygen therapy, central line care, shock and dialysis were organised in addition to communications on critical care.

Dr Anil Kumar, Director and Head, Department of Medical ICU, ShardaCare – Healthcity said “Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection. It results from an abnormal immune response leading to tissue injury and organ dysfunction. Early recognition of infection, organ dysfunction and clinical deterioration is essential for timely treatment and improved outcomes.”
