Tata 1mg, India’s largest digital health platform announced a strategic partnership with Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF), a joint initiative of the Assam Government and Tata Trusts, to open hospital pharmacies, at the inauguration of seven cancer care hospitals in Assam earlier this week, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the presence of other dignitaries.

Tata 1mg has been chosen by ACCF as its preferred partner to set-up and run in-house pharmacies in different cancer care hospitals under the foundation, and to ensure supply of medicines and other medical supplies to the foundation. Tata 1mg shall bring in analytics-based modern inventory management methods, and provide ACCF and its patients access to best-in-class technologies, patient assistance programs and value added services to deliver a world class experience.

Building on its expertise in the diagnostics sector, Tata 1mg is also planning to partner with ACCF to provide multiple skill development initiatives for local youth who are keen to learn and pursue careers in the healthcare sector. Graduates from these courses will also help in supporting the requirements for skilled healthcare professionals in the upcoming cancer hospitals being planned in Assam under ACCF.

Speaking about their vision, Prashant Tandon, Co-Founder and CEO, Tata 1mg, said, “We are delighted to partner with ACCF for pharmacy services, and will continue to strive to provide seamless access to affordable, quality healthcare for every Indian. With our skill development programmes, we hope to create a robust and vibrant ecosystem for education in the healthcare sector in Assam and further empower the youth of Assam.”

Speaking about the partnership, Dr Sajal Sen, Chief Operating Officer, Assam Cancer Care Foundation, said, “Private organisations like Tata 1mg play a critical role in strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in remote locations of the country. Partnerships like these show the way for an effective engagement between the public and private sectors to provide affordable healthcare for all and at the same time develop the community through skill development and employment generation.”

Since its inception in 2015, Tata 1mg has established itself as one of India’s leading digital healthcare players, earning consumer trust and loyalty, by consistently delivering a superlative experience. This partnership with ACCF further strengthens its commitment to enhance its offerings and network to become the preferred healthcare brand for consumers, healthcare partners and doctors across the country.
