The Uttar Pradesh Government has unveiled plans to establish a ₹5,000 crore Regional Medical Hub in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, as part of its strategy to position the state as a leading destination for advanced healthcare and medical value tourism. The proposed UP Cares Jewar Regional Medical Hub will be developed over nearly 200 acres, creating an integrated healthcare ecosystem that combines super-specialty medical services, education,

research and rehabilitation under one campus. The project is expected to leverage Jewar’s strategic connectivity through the Noida International Airport, strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s role as a regional healthcare hub.

The medical hub will house multi-specialty hospitals, medical colleges, research institutions, advanced diagnostic centres, AYUSH facilities, rehabilitation units and Medical Value Tourism (MVT) Facilitation Centres. The integrated campus is designed to provide end-to-end healthcare services for both domestic and international patients while encouraging collaboration between public and private healthcare providers. The project aligns with the Union Government’s vision of establishing regional medical hubs to promote India as a global destination for high quality and affordable healthcare.

According to state officials, the hub will complement the rapid infrastructure development taking place around Noida International Airport, which is expected to become a major gateway for international patients travelling to India for medical treatment. Besides expanding tertiary healthcare capacity, the project is anticipated to generate significant employment opportunities for doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, researchers and healthcare support staff, while also strengthening medical education and clinical research in the region.

The initiative comes at a time when India’s medical value tourism sector is witnessing steady growth. Industry estimates project the country’s medical tourism market to surpass US$13 billion by 2028, supported by affordable treatment costs, internationally accredited hospitals and increasing adoption of digital healthcare technologies. The Union Budget 2026 also proposed the development of five Regional Medical Hubs across the country to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and position India as a preferred destination for global medical travellers.

Healthcare experts believe the ₹5,000 crore Jewar Regional Medical Hub will become a landmark healthcare infrastructure project for North India by integrating world-class clinical services, medical education, research and wellness under one ecosystem. Once operational, the facility is expected to improve access to specialised healthcare, attract private investment, boost medical tourism and reinforce Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to emerge as a national leader in healthcare infrastructure and innovation.
