Policing is a demanding profession and due to the daunting work schedules, there are times when police personnel are not able to pay adequate and timely attention to their health concerns.

Despite the professional hazards that come with the job of policing, it is essential to spread awareness about the urgent need to take preventive steps to enable police personnel to lead fulfilling professional and personal lives.

As part of its endeavour to ensure a healthy workforce, Delhi Police in association with the ‘Illness to Wellness’ campaign and Yolohealth, a healthcare technology company, conducted a health camp at Community Centre in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi.

At the camp, over 130 police personnel and their family members were tested across various parameters, which included blood pressure, lipid profile, blood sugar and many other invasive and non-invasive tests.

Speaking about the initiative, Anil Rajput, Chairperson, ASSOCHAM National CSR Council, said, “Police personnel play an important role in maintaining law and order. However, we tend to forget the arduous nature of their job and the enormous personal sacrifices made by them to secure the safety and security of our citizens. A major casualty in this process is the neglect of their health due to long and demanding duty hours that many times leads to various health complications. I am glad that the Illness to Wellness Awareness campaign now covers this important pillar of our society. This awareness camp is the beginning of many initiatives for timely health screening opportunities.  The Illness to Wellness campaign focuses on building a healthier and more productive society, and I am confident that this initiative will go a long way in achieving a healthier nation”.

In the camp, YoloHealth used its trademark product HealthATM to show how technology has evolved in delivering accurate health assessment reports. These HealthATM machines are designed to offer primary and preventive healthcare services with the goal of ensuring easy public access. It is an aggregation of US FDA/EU certified IoT-enabled medical devices combined with yolohealth’s proprietary HIPPA compliant software backend and cloud-centric platform supporting tele-medicine facility. This pioneering endeavour enabled individuals to take stock of their health and make well-informed health decisions.

The health camps are being held across the city to sensitise citizens on the importance of detecting potential health issues at an early stage. Serving as an awareness and proactive health check-up platform, these camps offer individuals a chance to get preventive health check-ups and through them avoid potential complications that could arise from their delay.

The health check-up event held at Community Centre in Malviya Nagar marked yet another event in a series of highly successful camps undertaken through the collaborative efforts of Illness to Wellness and Yolohealth. This initiative was launched on March 28, 2024, and since then, the campaign has swiftly gained traction, with nine camps being held over the past five months. Preceding this event, health camps were held at prominent locations like Janpath, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Birla Mandir, Aggarwal Digambar Jain Mandir in Connaught Place, Priority Health Care in Green Park, Shri Sai Bhakta Samaj, Guru Harkrishan Public School in Vasant Vihar and Shri Jagannath Mandir in Thyagraj Nagar.

The ‘Illness to Wellness’ campaign was launched in 2014 and remains committed to promoting health and well-being through empowering, educating, collaborating and adopting of sustainable health practices. Over the years, it has aimed to maximise outreach and impact, from organising camps and awareness campaigns to holding regular webinars on key health topics and developments- with the clear purpose of raising awareness and providing motivation and remedies.
