The innovative regimen combines chemotherapy and radiotherapy, effectively doubling the life expectancy of patients compared to existing treatments. This approach not only enhances survival rates but also reduces the financial burden on patients, making it a viable option for a broader population.
Professor Sushma Agrawal of the Radiotherapy Department at SGPGI led the research team behind this development. She stated, “Our new treatment protocol has shown promising results in clinical trials, offering hope to patients who previously had limited options.”
