Over 10000 Menstrual Hygiene Vending Machines Installed Across India 3

Marking the spirit of International Women’s Day and this year’s theme “Give to Gain,” Vyomini Social Enterprise, under the leadership of social entrepreneur Prachi Kaushik, is driving a powerful grassroots initiative to ensure dignity, health, and support for women in uniform through its SWABHIMAN — Promoting Dignity Through Menstrual Hygiene programme.

Conceptualised and executed by Vyomini Social Enterprise, in collaboration with Delhi Police and Women and Child Development Department , National Small Industry Corporation Limited and civil society organizations Ms Prachi strengthening Sanitation Hygiene Infrastructure in Police Stations, Shelter Home , Public Dealing Offices,  the initiative aims to transform Workplace  into gender-sensitive by ensuring access to menstrual hygiene facilities and awareness.

As part of the programme, sanitary napkin vending and disposal machines were installed at the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC), Nanakpura, along with a menstrual health awareness session for women police personnel., 50 machine allocated for Women Shelter Home, Nari Niketan and Homeless Centre along with free Sanitary Napkins.

What began as a small step towards addressing a silent workplace challenge has today grown into a city-wide movement, with more than 10000 sanitary napkin vending machines already installed in different locations across India, recently 25 Vending Machine and Incinerator installed in Vadnagar our Honorable Prime Minister Home town to  improving access to menstrual hygiene products for women every place they visit.

The initiative has been conceptualised and led by Prachi Kaushik, Founder and Director of Vyomini Social Enterprise, whose work over the past two decade has focused on breaking menstrual taboos and building women-led social entrepreneurship ecosystems across India.

Speaking about the initiative, Prachi KaushikFounder and Director, Vyomini Social Enterprise said, “Menstrual health is not just a health issue; it is a dignity issue, it is matter of Primary Health. Women police personnel work tirelessly to protect society, yet many workplaces still lack basic menstrual hygiene facilities. Through SWABHIMAN, our goal is to ensure that women in uniform feel supported, respected, and empowered at their workplaces.”

A social entrepreneur and grassroots changemaker, Prachi Kaushik have educated over 3 million women on menstrual health and empowered more than 2,00,000 women as entrepreneurs across India, helping them create sustainable livelihoods while addressing local community challenges.

Her organisation Vyomini Social Enterprise has also established India’s first incubation centre for sanitary napkin production, enabling women from underserved communities to become manufacturers, distributors, and educators on menstrual hygiene.

Prachi’s work is rooted in the belief that empowering grassroots women creates ripple effects across communities, improving health, strengthening local economies, and promoting gender equality.

The SWABHIMAN initiative reflects the true spirit of the Women’s Day theme “Give to Gain.” By investing in women’s health, dignity, and awareness, Vyomini Social Enterprise is not only supporting women police personnel but also strengthening institutional workplaces to become more inclusive and supportive, her vision is to make SDG  5, 6, 8 and 12 India achieve before 2030

Through partnerships with institutions, communities, and women leaders, Vyomini continues to demonstrate how grassroots innovation and social entrepreneurship can create lasting change in public systems and women’s lives.
